Identity verification for financing – what are my options?

Accepted Answer

1. Fast Lane via Web-ID: You receive a link by email from our partner bank, which you use to verify your identity via Web-ID. As part of this, you read through the financing agreement online and consent to an account check by the bank. The process takes no longer than 20 minutes and completes the financing request.

2. The classic way by post: alternatively, we will send you an email with the pre-filled financing contract, the deviating payout instruction and a list of the documents we need: - Proof of income for the last 2 months - Scan of your ID card (both sides) - possibly a scan of your residence confirmation (in that case also a scan of your passport) - signed scan of the deviating payout instruction and of the financing contract.

If you opt for the classic route, the documents sent to us must be checked once received. Only then is the financing approved, which may extend the time it takes to complete the purchase. In both cases we need the signed original financing contract by post.

What do you need for financing?

For financing, we work with our partner bank Openbank by Santander. For approval of the financing, the bank requires employment and no negative Schufa entry. As proof of your income, a copy of your latest payslip is usually sufficient.

What is the difference between financing and leasing?

With loan financing, the car becomes your property at the end of the instalment payments. With leasing, you only pay for using it and return it after a fixed period. You can find out which option is best suited to you here.
